The materials we normally used for the knife blade hancentool
The materials commonly used for making knife blades are martensitic stainless steels, such as :
2Cr13, 2Cr14, 3Cr13, 410, 420, 440A, 440C, and 440B.
Typically, 2Cr13 or 3Cr13 is used to make knives. The general heat treatment hardness ranges from 45 to 50 HRC, with a density of approximately 7.75 g/cm3 and a melting point around 1427°C.
There are also some special high-carbon alloy steels used for making knives, such as the 440 series steel, which can achieve a heat treatment hardness of 54 to 58 HRC while maintaining good toughness.
